Energy Firm Plans $1.2B Transmission Line Project in Iowa

Kiewit project is expected to create 5,000 jobs.


Construction of a $250 million converter station in Iowa is one of the components of a wind-energy project by Clean Line Energy Partners. The company will build 500 miles of transmission lines at a cost of $1.2 billion to carry electricity from Iowa to Illinois.

Kiewit will be the lead contractor, and the project is expected to create 5,000 construction jobs.
