Evergreen Names Distributors and Suppliers of the Year

Acme Tools, Jim & Slims and Jobsite Supply named Distributors of the Year.


The Evergreen Marketing Group has recognized three distributor members and three manufacturer partners as 2011 Member or Supplier of the Year. The awards were presented at the group’s annual Partnership Conference in April.

Earning distinction as 2011 Distributor Member of the Year were:

Steve Kuhlman and his team from Acme Tools of Grand Forks, ND took Evergreen's 2011 Distributor Member of the Year for Tier 1. Jim Burzynski of Jim & Slim's Tool Supply, Largo, FL was honored with Evergreen's 2011 Distributor Member of the Year for Tier 2. Pete Molloy of Jobsite Supply, Indianapolis, IN was recognized with Evergreen's 2011 Distributor Member of the Year for Tier 3.

Earning distinction as 2011 Preferred Supplier of the Year were:

Keith Toner represented Stanley Black & Decker to accept the Evergreen 2011 Preferred Supplier of the Year award, Tier 1. Wes Thomas of Sumner Manufacturing was on hand to pick up the Evergreen 2011 Preferred Supplier of the Year award, Tier 2. Sheila Eads was one of the ERB Safety team to accept the Evergreen 2011 Preferred Supplier of the Year award, Tier 3.

The awards were created to recognize the top distributors and manufacturers based on a multiple criteria. Distributors and manufacturers were first divided into three tiers based on size. Within each tier, the distributor and manufacturer were then ranked based on a number of criteria including: contribution to the group, growth, participation, and member and supplier input.

8th Annual George A. Sheatz Excellence in Education Award

Brendan Conway of Sumner Manufacturing has been named the 2011 recipient of the Evergreen Marketing Group's George A. Sheatz Excellence in Education Award for 2011.Evergreen also awarded its eighth annual George A. Sheatz Excellence in Education Award to the top manufacturer instructor participating in the group’s 2011 training program.

Supplier instructors are rated by students and Evergreen training center staff during each school. Those instructors who achieve the highest ratings earn the award. One individual received the prestigious award for his work in the 2011 training year: Brendan Conway of Sumner Manufacturing.

The award is named after George A. Sheatz, a retired tool and fastener distributor currently living in California. Sheatz was instrumental in Evergreen’s training & education programs for nearly 20 years.

“George’s life-long commitment to professional development inspired Evergreen’s training programs,” said Kevin D. Higginbotham, chief executive officer of Evergreen. “Over nearly two decades, thousands of tool and fastener distributor sales people were touched by George and his passion for learning.

“In winning this year’s George Sheatz Award, Brendan Conway and Sumner Manufacturing join an elite group of professional trainers in the tool and fastener industry,” he said.
