DEWALT Carpentry and Framing Complete Handbook Now Available

Book contains more than 300 detailed illustrations on every facet of the framing process.

Delmar, part of Cengage Learning, today announced the release of the DEWALT Carpentry and Framing Complete Handbook, an instructional reference guide for carpentry professionals and part of the DEWALT Complete Handbook Series.

The DEWALT Carpentry and Framing Complete Handbook contains a wealth of diagrams and pictures that illustrate step-by-step procedures associated with the basics of carpentry and framing — allowing readers to see how tasks should be completed rather than solely reading about them. The accompanying text, which clarifies and elaborates on the visuals, is clear, straightforward, and easy to navigate.

The DEWALT Carpentry and Framing Complete Handbook is logically organized for easy reference and is a thorough yet concise introduction to the world of carpentry and framing. Topic coverage begins with a discussion of house types and foundations, then gradually progresses into more complex areas, such as wall and floor framing.

"Unlike most carpentry books, which are generally geared towards the do-it-yourself space, this addition to the Complete Handbook series was created specifically with carpentry professionals in mind," said Greg Clayton, vice president, Delmar. "The DEWALT Carpentry and Framing Complete Handbook easily conveys critical information through span tables, charts, sidebars, and more. In addition, this new title boasts more than 300 detailed illustrations that depict every facet of the framing process, making it a valuable reference tool for all carpentry professionals."

Gary Brackett, author of the DEWALT Carpentry and Framing Complete Handbook, has 25 years of experience in the carpentry industry, with 14 years in the field and 11 as an instructor with the Technology Division/Carpentry Program at the State University of New York (SUNY) at Delhi. His teaching duties include several carpentry related courses as well as subjects focusing on fine woodworking. He previously worked for a contracting firm before opening and managing a small contracting business of his own. Brackett holds a B.S. in Geology from SUNY at Oneonta, and a M.S. in Education from SUNY at Oswego.
