Fomo staffers earn BPI Certification

Certified Building Analysts from Building Performance Institute.

Fomo Products, Inc., a manufacturer of low pressure spray polyurethane foam (SPF), recently announced that a class of ten staff members have all received training and certification from the Building Performance Institute (BPI). Fomo's certified employees range from vice presidents to sales associates and are all now BPI Certified Building Analysts.

BPI is a non-profit national standards development and credentialing organization for residential, energy- efficiency retrofit work that provides training in home performance and best practices.

"The Building Performance Institute is one of the leading, recognized developers of technical standards for home performance in the industry," said Doug Caffoe, vice president of business and market development, Fomo Products, Inc. "To best serve the needs of our distributors and customers we need to be experts in every area that our product touches, and this certification is one more way for us to maintain our position as an industry leader."

Training and accreditation include more than 60 hours of external training, both in the classroom on theory and in the field with hands-on training. Training focuses on building science as it relates to the importance of conducting comprehensive, entire home system assessments. Once trained, participants must pass both written and field tests to receive accreditation.

"The Fomo team agrees that the training and certification process was an extremely worthwhile experience," said Caffoe. "As leaders in the low pressure spray polyurethane foam and insulation industry, Fomo believes in its responsibility to serve its industry and customers with the best possible products and solutions - something this training and certification help make possible."

The list of Fomo staff that are now BPI certified spans the entire company, including: Ron Kozak, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer; Tom Fishback, Vice President of Research and Development; Doug Caffoe, Vice President of Business and Market Development; Tim Kenworthy, Department Manager of Refill Technology Group; Tim Shoemaker, Technical Support Field Manager of Refill Technology Group; Derrick Hyde, Technical Training and Support Associate; Kristen Lewis, Market Channel Manager; Sandy Gump, Product Manager; Matt Stuckey, Market Development Manager; and Jim Mokriski, Sales Associate.
